I used a product that was called black beauty. It was a medium grade course media. It took everything off well. I had one bag of finer material and it seamed to do better with cleaning the surface, I think I would go with fine if I did it again.

Here is the garage where I did most of the work up till the engine swap. The engine swap is taking place at a friends garage after I got out of the military and lost the military housing. If anyone is planning something this large I would recoment not doing it in military housing. |

Here you can see just how much of
a mess was created using the blaster. For blasting I rented a large
compressor that was trailer mounted. This is the only thing that could
create the airflow needed to blast. Doing this again I would do it
outside a garage if I could.

Here you can see just how dirty of
a job blasting is. You wear a hood and mask but with the heat the
sand got everywhere and the mask would fog up quickly.

Here you can see how well the blasting
does. I was not too worried about stripping off every bit of paint,
but did want to get all loose paint and rust off. Also this created
a nice rough surface that the durabak bonded well with.

Here is the hood grill and the front
fenders after there blasting. Using the fine media seemed to do better
cleaning than using the medium media. If doing it again I would just
go with that.... and do the blasting outside, not inside.
